Good Movies to Watch

I happen to like MP's Life of Brian, Dumb and Dumber, The Legend of Drunken Master (Jackie Chan!), Austin Powers, Black Sheep. Movies like that are great for bus trips.

I happen to like A Walk to Remember. It's really sad, but I like it nevertheless. I am not a big movie watcher though

Hmm...I'll list some favorites even though a couple have already been named, such as the Lion King. I mean...how can you go wrong with the Lion King? Alright, the movie that personally goes with me everywhere (in fact, was recently with me at our first competition to Trenton) is Cruel Intentione. However, it's rated R and I would not recommend allowing your students to watch this. Great movie though...for personal viewing. A movie I do recommend watching with the students though is Sixth Sense. Also Resident Evil or The Order if you're into weird kind of movies like that. I am not sure of the rating on this but I've heard Bowling for Colombine is an awesome movie. I recommend watching yourself before letting any students watch it. Just in case since I havn't seen it just yet. A great movie, if you don't mind crying a little, that's also inspiring and has the spirit of FIRST to it is Pay It Forward. It's the only movie I've ever actually watched and thought "Oh wow...I really see what a difference each person makes on this each." It's a fablous movie. The only other recommendation I can make is to try and stay with Disney Movies. They tend to please everyone of all ages. Oh yes, if you like anime and liked Princess Monoke (sp?), try Spirited Away as well. It's suppose to be great.

Spirited Away is def an excellent movie to watch. Even my mom (who despises all anime ) loved it and watched it multiple times. I'd suggest Donnie Darko because it's an amazing movie, but it's not really busride material. Same goes for Boondock Saints , to really enjoy them you have to watch them with your full attention. Anyway, my personal favorite busride movie is The Brave Little Toaster . Talking toasters, robotics, it seems fairly appropriate.

Bring the Firefly DVD set. That's 14 episodes of sci-fi goodness (without being very sci-fi-ish which makes it really good). You fans of Buffy and Angel will like it too. It's done by Joss Whedon.

Oh my god! My favorite movie when i was little was The Brave Little Toaster (besides the little mermaid)

I'd like to bring The Breakfast Club on the bus with us... i'm pretty sure i could coerce byrne into letting us play it... i mean, it's a quality movie, full of teen angst! I'm also bringing Footloose and Dirty Dancing just because i like sappy movies with dancing... god i love patrick swazey (sp?) hahahaha

I'm glad to see someone finally mention Airplane. Airplane and Airplane II have got to be my favorite movies of all time. You have to watch them 2 or 3 times so you could pick up all the small stuff. Even the Naked Gun ones are good too. Dumb and Dumber and Space Balls are good too. I personally lean towards comedy.

I'm a huge Buffy fan and wouldn't mind watching Buffy episodes all day. I've never seen Firefly though. I have Buffy on DVD and I also have the first season of LaFemme Nikita (the USA network series) on DVD. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Peta Wilson are my favorite actresses.

Boondock Saints
Equilibrium

Both could be passable as awful excuses to kill people, however, Equilibrium is an amazing account of the books 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and Animal Farm all snowballed in to a Matrix feel. The plot basis is that after the third world war, a drug is introduced that suppresses all emotion and creativity. The idea behind it is, no feelings, no anger, no war. One of the 'Clerics' or the main enforces of the emotion pills accidentally misses a dose. The one dose he misses out on and he sees what he's been missing out on.

Boondock Saints is another great movie. Basically, two young Irish kids in America accidentally stumble into killing two Russian mafioso types. After that, they decide that these people are bad and deserve not to live for their sins. They basically hunt down other awful people.
