Lowering the Bar?

Was the hanging bar lowered (as was spotlighted at kickoff) at any of the regionals this weekend to allow for easier robot removal from the bar? Just curious.

Re: Lowering the Bar?

Yeah, they were raising and lowering all the time at Richmond. Our robot had a caribbeaner on it's main hook and a solid worm-gear-driven arm (instead of flexible PVC or something) and the first time they lowered the bar our robot got stuck for 5 minutes... the refs weren't happen, luckily it was during practice matches They eventually let teams get off the bar without lowering it.

Re: Lowering the Bar?

They were lowering the bar in Manchester as well. They had a problem with it also, and were delayed until Dean Kamen himself came out and helped the referees fix it.
