Our team is involved with Hawthorne and Chatsworth at Educator Summit WESTEC today

link

WESTEC is making FIRST program their focus for education summit.

Then tomorrow thu 600 students are bussed in to LA Sports Arena to view practice competitions and pits from balcony. They're only there for an hour starting 12:20p. Small groups may get on the floor tours.

fyi to delphi, our team will be passing out to all those students skateboard keyrings with stickers that have 4 important web addresses...
www.usfirst.org
www.chiefdelphi.com
www.bcrobotics.org
Redondo Fun Factory (ok, not a web address, their address is too long for the stickers, but they donated the keyrings)

Hope all those students, family, friends scope out chiefdelphi for inspiration to start their own school's robotics' team, as WESTEC is hoping.

***update***

The evening afternoon and evening went great. We have a few rookie teams for 2005 season - Long Beach and San Bernadino. Utah was checking it out. Manufacturers and teachers had a lot of questions and were getting inspired. The last speaker at the VIP dinner spoke with great enthusiasm about going to his first FIRST competition a couple of years ago, exclaiming that if you love high school sports like football, etc, go to this robotics' competition.

So impressed with Hawthorne's robotics' program in their school's curriculum. They were the featured team onstage. Will have pics later.
