History of FIRST Website

Been thinking about this for a while...

Time and time again, I've seen people ask on CD for information about earlier competitions. The problem is that while there's quite a bit of information available for more recent games, the ones that served as the earliest FIRST competitions are very hard to find information on. On the rare occasion that the information is presented - like it will be in a workshop in Georgia - it's only for a limited audience and the presentation isn't preserved anywhere. I have yet to see a resource that's got anything close to comprehensive information, so I've got an idea...

We need to create a website somewhere, a repository of FIRST information. Rules, videos, images...whatever's available would be fair game for the site. Some of the information would be much easier to come by - the recent match scores and team lists are still available on the FIRST website. Other information, most likely that for the older competitions, would be harder to find. Still, a site like this would be great for the FIRST community and would make researching the event's past much easier.

Just an idea...odds are I won't be able to follow through on this due to lack of time. Still, if anyone has the time and motivation to do it...by all means, go for it.

That site can be found specifically here:

That is a fun site to poke around...

Re: History of FIRST Website

Both team 177 and 190's websites have good information about past games if you dig enough.

Check out the history page, it doesnt have complete rule sets from each year, but a basic overview of the game along with a few pictures!
