Wow, again! Quoting myself from last year "I'm amazed and scared at the same time." hmmm..does Andy really have an engineering degree?

For those of you who didn't catch Andy's story last year you can read it here.

This story is so great. They should make a super reputation category that's called "Andy Baker like" and it should include about 20 green boxes.

You know... that is a good question. No, I have not written much poetry, but I do like to write when I have time.

Thank you all for the kind comments.

Speaking of writing...

(oh, no... here's goes Andy again...)

If you look at the some of the more respected people on these Forums, you will notice that they all have one thing in common: they know how to write.

You wonder why JVN is well-respected? He can write. He clearly can express his feelings and opinions in writing. So can Dave Lavery, Joe Johnson, Ken Leung, and many others. Sure, you may not agree with everything these people say, but you must admit that they can write well.

So, do you want respect? You want people to listen to you? Then put your effort into your words. Choose them well. Take your time and show the readers in this community some respect by proofing your work, taking the time to spell things correctly, and thinking about what you write before spilling your emotions hastily onto the keyboard.

A good rule that I use is this: each post I write could be read by over 1,000 people. The effort I put into my writing makes it easier for each of those people to read what I have to say. Then, when they see another post by me, they are inclined to read it.

Side note:
Please wait to read this, as I am going back over my note and proofing it - for your sake and mine.

Andy B.

Well done, Andy! I am in awe of your wittiness. I only wish that I could come up with something like that.

Leave it to those kids from the Hammond area to cause something like that....=)

Bravo!

Re: Trouble in Archimedes

Ok, why can't some of us college students have that much time, I mean, seriously if we had that much time we might actually get to sleep at night as opposed to being the freaks of nature we are. Oh well, great story Andy, thanks from 900 for including us and good luck to all in Archie. See you all there and hopefully Archie will take home the championship this year.

Re: Trouble in Archimedes

And someone once said that I was the one with too much time on my hands!!!

Holy narration, Batman! What has become of the world! When well-respected, known-to-be-nerdy, engineers turn to artistic prose - and it turns out to be both readable and entertaining - will all our assumptions about never mixing engineering and art have to fall by the wayside?! Will all the other universal constants be next?! What will become of our understanding of the world! * Could global understanding of the Lewis equation and Adaptive Huffman Coding be next?!

Tune in tomorrow and find out! Same Bat-time! Same Bat-channel!

-dave

(* just maybe it will be a slightly more fun place to be! Good job, Andy! )

The benefit of being in the same division as the Technokats is that your team gets included in Andy's story . The drawback is that your team has to compete against the Technokats .

I'm more worried about Andy blaming 111 for causing the trouble. Will he unleash the entire division on us and not just 814, 174, 121 and 22?
