Attention All Teams going to the Championship:
Here is your chance to thank someone that helps your team in Atlanta. Tell us your story of how a team helped you and then nominate that team or person to win an Apple i-Pod. Team 341 wants to collect great stories of Gracious Professionalism that take place in Atlanta and also show our appreciation for all of the random acts of kindness that happen at FIRST events. Stories collected will be used for a team project. Details: 1) Team 341 scouts will drop off (2) nomination postcards to every team in Atlanta 2) Nominate someone from another team that has helped you and write your story of Gracious Professionalism on the card. See Attachment 3) Drop off your postcards at the 341 Pit . 4) Tell that person that you nominated them!! (Why? Because, it will make them happy!) 5) Around 12:00 PM on Saturday, 4/17, We will pick three cards and then announce the winners on www.team341.com, www.ChiefDelphi.com, and directly to the winning teams. 6) 1st Prize = 10 Gb Apple i-Pod, 2nd Prize = Team 341 Hat, t-shirt and Radio, 3rd Prize = Team 341 Hat, t-shirt and Radio Some Simple Rules: 1) You must nominate someone from another team that has helped you. (We are relying on your Gracious Professionalism!) 2) You must include a story of the help you received. 3) Although great stories will help our project, this is a random drawing. Entries will not be judged on their writing quality or on the magnitude of the help received. We only require that a serious story about another team is present on the winning card. 4) Team 341 reserves the right to accept or reject any drawn postcard without explanation. 5) Postcards must be received by 12:00 PM on 4/17/04 So look for us in the pits on Thursday and nominate someone that helped you make it through the Championship. What a great way to say THANKS!!! Good luck to everyone in Atlanta and in the upcoming off-season. |

Re: Thank a Team with an i-Pod !!!
This sounds awesome.
Great idea 341 and thanks for following through with it. I will definitely do my best to nominate these deserving people. And they will be so happy when I tell them they could win an iPod. Go Daisy! Go Panthers! We're in Gallileo together so I can only half cheer for you. |

Re: Thank a Team with an i-Pod !!!
ngreen:
Thanks for your support! Earlier this year when our season was in financial jeopardy, this i-Pod was donated to us for a raffle. When we miraculously made our fundraising goals, the team just wanted to give back to FIRST. So instead of raffling the i-Pod they decided to do this. I hope everyone enjoys it and participates. Good luck and stop by if you need any help or just want to say Hi to the team. Last edited by OZ_341 : 09-04-2004 at 13:31. |

Re: Thank a Team with an i-Pod !!!
This is a great idea! Too bad my team isn't attending the Championships, or I'd have a few people to nomitate.

Re: Thank a Team with an i-Pod !!!
Since so many good deeds go without notice, please help team 341 say thank-you.
While the really big donations, and the mentor teams DO get thanks, there are so many little things that people have done for our team...so many things I have seen being done for others.... I think the final list will be amazing to look at! Mr. H- Coach for Miss Daisy 341 |

Re: Thank a Team with an i-Pod !!!
One suggestion: eliminate the "thank a team" option. It's much easier to give a single iPod to a person instead of a group.

In the possible case that a team is selected... that team will have to decide a method of selection... from an "M.V.P." type award to names from a hat. The most important thing is that this iPod is nothing more than a small token of thanks. We just want to point out how many good deeds happen in a three day competition. ~a daisy coach ![]() |

Re: Thank a Team with an i-Pod !!!
To Teams 494, 151, and 1002:On behalf of Team 341, it was our pleasure to give the i-Pod to such deserving teams. Your on-field and off-field performance this year really warranted this recognition. Congratulations and thank you for being such an amazing example for other teams. You are what Gracious Professionalism is all about. For your reference below, are the 3 Gracious Professionalism stories from the backs of the i-Pod Postcards for the 3 prize winners at Nationals. Best of luck in the off-season!!! Al Ostrow Coach, Team 341 Thank a Team with an I-Pod Winners 1st : Team 494; Goodrich Martians; http://www.494martians.com/ 1396’s crate was shipped to the wrong location, leaving them with no robot. Team 494 helped team 1396 build a robot from scratch in six hours. 2nd: Kris Erickson – Team 151; Wildcards; http://www.baesystemsfirst.org/ Kris spent numerous hours helping machine parts for our robot during the build season. He also gave us a custom drill transmission that his team made extra of. Despite some resentment from his team, Kris continued to help work with our team until the end. Team 166 is grateful for his help. 3rd: Team 1002; The Circuit Runners; http://www.circuitrunners.com/ The incredibly hard work of scouting, entering the data, and maintaining an awesome database was the key reason for our strategic success. This team was always helpful and generous with information. Thank you to team 1002. (Anonymous) |
