HEX CRAWLER...
hey... i am currently working on a hex crawler bot with two other team members... which is about a feet and a half by a ft. and about half a ft. high... using 12 servos... the hexcrawler kit i got was from PARALLEX... for some reason when we turned it on... one of the servo started smoking... we opened up the servo and the board inside was fried... we are guessing that too much voltage was supplied to the servo... can anyone else come up with some other reason for the servo (board) getting fried...?

Re: HEX CRAWLER...
It could have been defective to begin with. I would also guess it could have been bound up internally or externally when it tried to move. I've never taken one apart so I really don't know exactly what's inside one or how many components/pieces are in there.
