TV Commercial Game - Rules and Regulations

The TV Commercial Game

1) Premise of game:

1.1 I am in the process of going through some old recorded video tapes from present day back till about the mid 80's.

1.2 I am going to submit a slogan or phrase from a TV commercial to the Games/Trivia Forum on http://www.chiefdelphi.com from present day back till about the mid 80’s in the below mentioned categories.

1.3 Questions will be submitted at random times for now.

1.4 One question per day will be released until it is answered, and then the next question will be released soon after.

1.4 The first person to guess the source of the phrase is the winner.



2) Categories.

2.1 All questions will be from the following general categories:

2.1.1 Company

2.1.2 Product

2.1.3 Restaurant

2.1.4 Service

2.1.5 Store

2.2) Categories will be added as needed and these rules updated in this paper and on http://www.Chiefdelphi.com as soon as possible to reflect new category/ies.

3) Hints:

3.1 Hints will be given 3 times. Once every two days at random time during that day after the original question is submitted and only if there is no correct answer given within that time.

3.2 There will be a total of three hints per question given.

3.3 The first hint will be one of the above categories.

3.4 The second and third hints will be more focused clues.

3.5 After 7 days, the answer will be provided and that question no longer used in future games.

4) Scoring:

4.1 All questions will start off having a points value of 100 points.

If answered at this point, the winning answerer will receive 100 points.

4.2 After the first hint is given, the question will then be worth 90 points

If answered at this point, the winning answerer will receive 90 points.

4.3 After the second hint is given, the question will then be worth 80 points

If answered at this point, the winning answerer will receive 80 points.

4.4 After the third hint is given, the question will then be worth 70 points

If answered at this point, the winning answerer will receive 70 points.

4.5 After 7 days the answer will be given and then the question will be worth 0 points and that game declared over.

4.6 Random Bonus points will be given for certain questions and will be announced before the question is given. – Bonus points are to be random, and their point values are random as well.

But, to give you an example, I will give a bonus point for the 237’th question I pose, for an obvious reason. :-D

5) Point Standings

5.1 Point Standings will be announced randomly or at the request of the requester from me, Elgin Clock, the Game Master for the TV Commercial Game.



6) Prizes:

6.1 No prizes are being given out as of now, but prizes may be included in a future version of the game, so I will keep score now, and incorporate those into future prize section rules and regulations – Stay Tuned!! :-D

7) Game Updates:

7.1 Game updates will be posted on http://www.Chiefdelphi.com and also be listed in this area, with the date that is to take effect.

Wow, with all those numbered rules I almost mistook this thread for the 1-1000(+) thread!

Actually Elgin, maybe I'll give you a hand with your TV Commercial Game. It would be nice to get it going again after being dormant for months since the game threads are very popular on here. Now all we need is some basic moderater capabilities.
