Seniors going off to college

So here's a question for all of the seniors who are going too far away to keep in real touch with your teams like you would want to.

How is your life going to be different?

What are you going to do with your life?

For me its simple i'm going to be a lot more bored and second i'm going ber on delphi a lot more often.

Re: Seniors going off to college

I know that the college I'm going to (Montclair State University) doesn't have a FIRST team, but they did donate two full scholarships to FIRST this year (I applied so I can't wait to see if I won!). Since it seems that MSU has already caught "FIRST Fever" I'm going to help spread it by infecting as many other people as I can on campus with the fever, and hope it becomes and epidemic . If I can't start a team at college I will be communting home every once and a while so I can help out my team (11) and hopefully coach another team that is in depserate need of coaches....IF all that fails I hope to volunteer at several regionals so that way I can keep involved, because FIRST just isn't a "club" or a "team" it's a way of life!

Re: Seniors going off to college

I will be going to Rice U. in Houston, which is a ways from my team in Saint Louis.

However, seeing as our team was mostly seniors this year, it will have trouble.

I think we have it worked out. We have a new teacher who joined us who is a veteran robotics moderator, so he will take over leading the team. Most of us seniors will be in town for kickoff and a few weeks after that, so we will help the team find its feet and we will do lots of design work. Then the team is by itself. Hopefully we will be on spring break during the competition. That would totally rock.
