yea.. well gmails tactics are smart, they get to test their new email for a long time, and delay their public realease again and again, by giving invites out.. its smart.. think..

what are u doing here? ur discusing gmail, telling ppl of the benefits and asking if they want an invite, if gmail was public already.. would u still be here talking about it ?? .. tahts what u call, smart word of mouth advertisement, as long as gmail is giving out invites, it will always be a topic of discusion.

and yet again.. i think this is 6th time.. i got refreshed with 50 invites.. they are not stopping. . . maybe ill post some again tomorow.. jeeze .. the second batch i posted are gone too!! !holy shiot man!

ok... about POP3 email access (most providers).. the thing is, once u open outlook or Thunderbird < BEST!, it will download all emails off the server to YOUR HD, and then delete off server, so the email provider only needs to store average 25MB of data TEMPORARILY, and YOU have to use 1GB of your HD for space! .. . yea.. and what if ur computer crashes? all your saved emails are gone buddy..unless you backed up your HD. .. so . pop3 is not all that its cracked up to be...

I'd rather keep my emails on my own harddrive. A gig ain't no thang no more. Just RAID it up and your good to go.

well, that and the fact taht you cant access your 'already downloaded' emails from other pcs / worldwide. (most email providers allow website acess to your emails,) but only new ones (since old emails were deleted)...well yea.. these days on new pcs. a 1gb is nothing, but for my old family PC that i used to use, 1gb was my hd :hahah.: glad i got a new amd 3300+now .. that was an awfull era.. .. meh.... raids are fun..

..

anyways.. back on topic here.. : this is getting ridiculous.. cuz guess what, i open my email account and shure enough, i got my invites back up to 50,, i lost count after the 4th refresh.. i think im at 7 now.. .. so ill be donating another 15 when i get home.. so if anyoen is still itching for an invite.. just wait till after 4pM eastern.. they should be up by then

So when is Google going to stop sending invites and open to the general public? If they are sending tons and tons of invites to get more and more people then why not open to the public

Hey they will send you an invite if you sign up for their newsletter. It's the only email I received from them.

ok.. i take it those are all gone.. hmmm .. . . mite not beleive this.. i got 50 invites yet again.. . . .getting tiresome.. but i feel bad just holding them back and not at least giving some out.. ok .. so this time .. im gona post all 50 of them.. . make or break! ** hold on 10 minutes
