Re: Sibblings
Hang on, this gets kinda confusing.
Summarizing the details below, I have 2 brothers, 1 half brother, 1 half sister, 4 step brothers and 3 step sisters. 7 are older than me and 4 are younger. Two older brothers (both older, @ 39 and 37): The eldest was high school valedictorian, basketball star and church youth group president. He got married, went to seminary, had two kids, and works in the business world and as a counselor. The middle brother was high school saludictorian, taught high school english, got married, had two kids (one is Austistic), and is a professor at Tenn. Tech. University. He and his wife both have their doctorate degrees in education. Needless to say, following these two dudes was (and is) not easy. My half brother is 23, and half sister is 21. One step sister is 41, one is 37, and one is 34. One step brother is 38, one is 36, one is 35, and one is 34. Three steps and the two halfs are on one side of the family (dad's) while the other 4 steps are are the other side (mom's - this is the hog farmin' side of the family). My wife is a saint. Having two sets of in-laws for her has to be hard to manage. My kids don't know all of their cousins, aunts and uncles. Holidays are chaotic. All of the family (either side) is never together at the same time, even at weddings. It is pretty ridiculus, but we have gotten used to it. Confused? It took me a while to figure out too. Andy B. Personally I'm the youngest of twins. My twin, 6 minutes older than I, was considered mean by everyone around us til she made some friends in high school. She always resented my having friends thruout school. There were 3 sets of twins in high school with us. There was always an introvert, and an extrovert, in my opinion. I have 4 kids ages 16-31. I have 2 stepkids, by different moms. 1 is age 13. 1 is 18. My kids dad married a woman with 4 kids. My adult son married a single mom. My 12yo stepgranddaughter is best friends with my 13yo stepdaughter. I have 6 grandkids altogether. |

Re: Sibblings
Middle. I have a sister (5 years older), and two brothers (1 and 1/2 years older and 2 years younger). By the time we were in our teens my sister was the pretty, smart, popular one, I was the quiet bookworm, and my brothers were always in trouble. Between dealing with my sister's activities and achievements and cleaning up my brothers' messes, my parents were overwhelmed and I was pretty much allowed to come and go as I pleased.

Re: Sibblings
I'm the older of 2.
Young James is going into his second year at Columbia University. Last I checked he's majoring in Political Science and Economics. Don't worry folks. He got all the brains of the family. ![]() |

Re: Sibblings
I'm an only child. For the most part, being an only child isn't that bad. The only real problem is that when I was younger, other kids assumed I always got everything i wanted which was never true. Also when something broke in the house, i never had anyone else to blame it on.

Re: Sibblings
I know I've already posted (I'm cheating), but after reading Andy's chaos, I thought I'd post a bit of my own.
My parents are both the youngest of four. They each have three older sisters, comparable in age. Out of their three sisters each, the two older have kids, the youngest does not. All are married. In total, I have nine aunts - six from my parents, two great aunts, and one by marriage. When I got to college, my roommate's name was Amanda. She was the youngest of four, and had three older sisters. |

I'm the oldest of two. I have a younger sister. She's never been involved with the team but has showed up at some of our teams' fundraisers to support us.

Re: Sibblings
I am the oldest of 2. My sister turns 8 on Aug 2 and I turn 17 on Oct 6. Kinda a big split in age... it makes getting out of the house inconvenient since someone always has to watch her.

Re: Sibblings
I'm the younger of two, almost 16, and my brother is 17. It's an odd combination, but we work well because we're opposites. I've found that depending on your personality, your parents treat you differently. My brother is the party boy and i'm the geek who sits at home and plays DDR on Saturday nights with her friends. w00t for DDR.
Sharing is important. My brother and I, we're not good at that. He's not in FIRST, unfortunately. |
