I use something sort of like it, www.shutterfly.com. It allows me to upload pictures, but nothing with IM.

How can you not upload anything...? You have to transmit something at somepoint for someone else to see it over the 'Net.

Peer to peer client I suppose. I'm not sure yet. Seems strange though. I would of expected hello.com to be more of a valuable url than for a free service.

i believe that hello.com compresses pictures on your pc before sending them (therefore doing it faster). if the person on the other side likes the picture, than you can do a traditional full upload. at least that is the gist i got from they're site.
