based on your screenname, i would expect you to be a huge death metal fan. i agree that half of slipknots new album wasnt really death metal, but there were still death metal songs on it. Duality was. and mudvayne is very much death metal, at least that which i have heard. Downthesun is probably what you consider death metal.

Re: [FVG]: Music Genres Round 2

I think it should be customizable.

The user should be able to create a playlist of mp3s, wavs, etc.

It shouldn't be too hard.

Re: [FVG]: Music Genres Round 2

kinda like GTA series, where you could put all of your MP3's into a folder and they play them through... it would be great but i dont know how practical that would be if we are trying to get music lisencses...

Re: [FVG]: Music Genres Round 2

we want to expand the players knowledge of the bands that are out there. that's the great thing about games like this. I ended up 2 CDs because of Tony Hawk 3 alone. One of them turned out to be my favorite CD ever! If somebody really wants to listen to their own music, they can just put in their own CD and listen. We are giving them a variety of music. that's the point.

I like the idea of customizable music. I think it should be considered. But we should also put in some 'default' music anyway.

I like the idea of customizable music as well. We could have a default playlist, and then users could put their own music in a certain folder on their computer, and the game would read from that. I don't think we'd have to worry about licensing and all that from the user's computer because they own the music, and if they don't, then it's not really our fault.

Maybe this could just be in the next version we do. The first one is usually good, but the next few are expected to be better. The second one or even third could have this idea. Overall, I like the idea! I think it's great.
