Fall 2004 EARLY Robotics Mission Challenge Unveiled!!!

Engineering Education Enthusiasts,

The Engineering And Robotics Learned Young (EARLY) Robotics Competition Mission for the Fall of 2004 was unveiled today at www.EARLYrobotics.org! After a very successful pilot for 4 seasons (2 years) in Houston and South Africa, EARLY is being expanded around the World so if you know of elementary teachers that would be interested and you believe this is worthwhile, please let them know about EARLY. Below is this year's mission.
Roboticists, the citizens of Caseyville need your help. A world shortage of blood & medical supplies prompted the Caseyville residents to donate record amounts of blood and medical supplies. Caseyville needs you to build a robot to transport the blood and medical supplies from each district to the Caseyville Medical Center where they will be distributed around the World. Please help Caseyville and those around the World!
A complete set of rules can be downloaded from here.

EARLY is the robotics competition, which many of you saw demonstrated at the Lone Star Regional & Championships, that was designed to provide our elementary students an opportunity to compete in fall and spring robotics competitions. EARLY is LEGO-based with no programming or automation, therefore it is a great way for students to strengthen their building skills before entering FIRST LEGO League. The videos from last year's World Championships can be found here

If you have any "off-line" questions or comments, please feel free to email me at Lucien.Junkin@jsc.nasa.gov.

Take care,
Lucien
