[OCCRA]: skyway wheels REPLY ASAP

Royal Oak would like to use pneumatic tires this year. Last year International Academy purchased tires from a bicycle shop in Pontiac and used them on their OCCRA robot. The shop was Scarlett’s Bike and Fitness.
They purchased tires at Scarlett’s that were made by Skyway Wheels in California.
Currently, we can purchase 12” and 14” Skyway wheels from Scarlett’s. International Academy used 12” tires last year on their OCCRA robot
We called several other bike shops and they also carry Skyway wheels but not in the size we want to use.
USFIRST has used Skyway wheels as a source for several years. They have included Skyway tires in their kit of parts for the past two years.
We want to use the 8” pneumatic tires made by Skyway. We will have to purchase them on line directly from Skyway wheels.
Is this OK to do?

Tires can be purchased from:
Skywaytuffwheels.com

They do not publish a special discount on their public website but if you call the number you list above and identify yourself as a FIRST robotics team they will fax you a special price list for a general selection of tires. If it does not have the size you wish then purchase what you want at the regular price. Doing such has been allowed in the last three years at least.

Official Questions (and Answers) have to come from the Q & A Forum above; however: since the wheels you mention are readily available to all teams and since wheels are on the additional materials list, I do not see why a ruling from the G & K committee is even needed in this case (but I might be wrong!)

Mac you are right. No ruling needed.
