Typical Due Date of Chairman's Award?

In the past, when was the chairman's award due? During the six week building period or after?

First doesn't have anything on their website anymore about the due date, other than the Chairman Award questions in the documents section...

Typically the Chairmans is due during the 6 weeks period. I expect it to be the same again this year and it should be clearly stated in the manuals and on the website after kickoff.

Do you know about when? Like 4th or 5th week? I am trying to make a ghantt chart for the team this year.

Last year the entry had to be received about 3 days after the robot ship date.

If things stay the same, I would assume a Chairman's due date between the 22nd and 25th of February.

Be sure to continuously monitor the updates section of the FIRST website as clarifications may also be made to the Chairman's Award section of the manual.

I encourage all teams to post their submissions in the White Papers section of CD after submitting them to FIRST - since the submissions are not usually seen by other teams, it's one way we can share what we are all doing with each other, thus helping to grow and spread the mission of FIRST!

You might also want to consider joining NEMO - the Non-Engineering Mentor Organization - because topics such as the Chairman's Award are discussed by fellow NEM's. In fact, it was lengthy discussions about the Chairman's Award that prompted the formation of the organization last year!

Chairman's Award submissions are due no later than Saterday, February 19, 2005

wow, that means even less time. it was a real convience last year being able to put some final touches on the chairman's submissions while not having to worry about the robot, but it looks like we wont have that luxury this year.

Yeah it does sadden myself however we still get time after the robot is shipped to work and rehearse the presentaion part of the award.

I've got a question as well. I never figured out the connection between Chairman's Award and rookie teams. A couple people I met over the weekend were wondernig as well. Is there one?

FIRST has put up a calendar of due dates that includes every award. The Chairman's Award is due Feb. 19, by noon Eastern Standard Time.

Well, it's 12:01 A.M., so that would be midnight. You were right.

We actually alerted FIRST about the error and the time on the deadline calendar was updated today... so you were correct in thinking it was noon, but the actual time is 12:01 AM.
