Re: Meeting Length
Quote:
This is HPA Robotics 4th year. The first year (I was a freshman) the weekend before the ship date on Tuesday the 4 or 5 other hardcore team members and I were at school working on our FIRST Robotics project from sometime Saturday morning until Monday morning. We DIDN'T go home. I slept through my first 2 classes on Monday. We meet in a small building, about 20 x 40 feet, that is named the Engineering Center. It's nestled in behind our school's monolithic indoor tennis center and gym/pool complex. It was constructed in 1991, the year before our high school sent a team to the Tour de Sol in Europe. The same mentor that went to Europe with that group is our current lead mentor. Our team has a total of less than 20 students. This year at least half our team is made up of freshman or new sophomores. They are all very enthusiastic, and by their junior year HPA Robotics will be very strong. But right now, myself and the 4 other veterans have a huge job to do: building this year's robot while showing the rookies how it's done. |

Re: Meeting Length
The schools I help / work with
One School - Takes about 1 hr or more depending on what needs to be covered / If there is any actual work going on Afterwards. The Other School - Thats TBD but I'm pretty sure its more then an hour since there in class the entire day. As far as students at the meetings it varies, and is at least a dozen or more for both schools Meetings are held on multiple days and on weekends if necessary |

Re: Meeting Length
hmmm...
Monday - Thursday 6:30-8:30 Sat - 10-4 sundays no meeting unless needed night before shipping- 630pm- 720AM (aka school starting) we meet in "the pit" we have an old ROTC bulding in the back of the school by the baseball fields. it's real long and real narrow. the back section is divided into a musty software room and parts/old robots and field parts.sid it's the kind of building that no one knows about. people see it at night and only see cars parked outside, lights comming out of the doors and the sound of machines rumbelling ![]() |
