Camera's Field of View?

I have my camera up and running. It is a calibrated and has no difficulty tracking any of the 5 colors.

I spent two hours today moving around a vision tetra and getting the cam.x value and then doing trigonometry based on where the tetra was so as to find the angle to the tetra, and I was completely unable to get consistent results.

Three different trials gave me field of views of 30, 40, and 50 degrees. I have no idea which it is, and I can't seem to get my data to stay put.

Have any other teams tried to calculate what the field of view of the camera is? If so, what method did you use and what results did you obtain? This problem certainly seems to have gotten the best of me, and I'm not sure why it is. I looked through the documentation for the CMUcam and didn't see anywhere that it specified the field of view. I found what resolution the images are, which is useful, but not without knowing how many degrees are encompassed by the sensor.

Any ideas?

Re: Camera's Field of View?

Answers are not consistent.

We have this: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=41940

and this: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=32690

I would like a definitive answer as well.

Anyone?

Thanks in advance...
