I would keep the anodizing and the LED's and ditch the fog machine.

While it would look cool, you will never be able to effectively control the fog and it's just gonna be totally unpractical at robot competitions.

Not to mention possibly illegal as far as the rules go.. If it's not, it should be.

With some one standing on the back of the cart you first must make sure there is enough weight in the front to make sure the casters stay on the ground. on the lift i would use some thing pnuematic. For one it is less of a mess, lighter and safer in my opinion.
And make sure the fog machine isn't going to set off any smoke alarms that could get interesting.
