Beach Cities Robotics' new website!

A lot of parts are still making their way online, but here's what we have so far: Beach Cities Robotics

I also designed the SCRRF websute SCRRF Web

Comments and criticisms on both are greatly appreciated, thanks!

Re: Beach Cities Robotics' new website!

Overall I like the design and layout of both-
Beach Cities Robotics -
good except for the left and right bars.... The text is too long for the width of the bars(Outreach & Education specifically), and on the right bar: the text seems too close to the main page, there should be more spacing. Also if you click on a link and press the back button you get a javascript error.

Overall I think that you use blue too much, but that may be because blue is such a great color, and I can understand that.
Good luck on fixing the one error and with making an even greater website

I got two "Unterminated string constant" errors:
On line 107, there is a newline following the initial quote for the string " seconds left until ":

Code:
document.countdownnsmain.document.countdownnssub.document.write(opentags+dday+ " days, "+dhour+" hours, "+dmin+" minutes, and "+dsec+"
seconds left until "+occasion+closetags)
and at line 145 , there a a couple of newlines embedded in the string "window.open('http://...,left=110')":
Code:
  "window.open('http://pub17.bravenet.com/guestmap/show.php?usernum=1409424668&lightmap=0&icons=0&&entrylist=0&zoom=0&welcome=1',

Re: Beach Cities Robotics' new website!

Both designs are awesome.

The first one, Beach Cities Robotics is nice, simple, easy to read, quick loading.. Very well done, the only thing I would suggest is to double-check spelling and broken links.

I know for a fact the judges will be looking for spelling and broken links.. just thought I'd help you out there.

The SCRFF website design is very clean and I like how the colors all match. In addition I like your custom logo for triple play, very creative.

Re: Beach Cities Robotics' new website!

The BCR website is nice. I like the fact that it doesn't have a cluttered feeling. Keeping most of the links on the left hand side helps keep it organized. As IABob said, some of the text is too long for the bars but other than that minor issue I like it.

George, I also noticed you sneaked some of your subtle humor in there as well. "Some lefts as well"..............nice, I didn't find any other jokes in there but I'm sure you've got more.

Also let us know when it's fully up. That way I can resign your guest map.
