Go to Post I am sad that the Patriots lost, and I am happy for both teams that won...but I am even more thrilled that for the next two weeks robot building in the midwest comes to a standstill. ;) - Jessica Boucher [more]

Re: How many tetras can your robot stack on the center goal?

I promise to tell you promptly once we have everything integrated properly.

On that note, I would like to point out that the last week of the build phase is always the least fulfilling for me. Everything seems to piece together so easily during the 4th and 5th weeks. This all seems to come to a screaching halt due to a bolt that's too short, or a nut that won't fit where it is supposed to, or a piece that looks really good on paper but not on the bot, or funds running out, or (i could go on for hours), or a chain that doesn't quite have clearance to pass a cross member, or ....

BTW this is not to bash anyone on our team. Our team has worked their collective butts off, but still seem to have thes minute problems that just seem to halt our progress. To any other team in the same situation: You can do it! Just make sure the bot gets finished before you lose you mind.

Trudat, it happens to everyone. The team just found out tonight that the belts we ordered that we thought were the same are a different batch or something and shred to bits terribly easy. Ditto on the funds and ditto for manpower Its all worth it in the end though

Re: How many tetras can your robot stack on the center goal?

I do believe we can stack a good six on the center goal Hahah.. 12 foot, 3 stage elevator.

The awesome part is that when we tip the robot over, and hang the elevator extended horizontally, it only bends down 2 inches. Very uberly stiff.

We are pretty proud of our mast too. When put it horizontally, it doesn't bend. Sweet.

Re: How many tetras can your robot stack on the center goal?

We can get only one. Our plan is not to worry about the center goal right now. Of course that may change at tomorrows meeting, but for right now the center goal is just there, but we should be able to stack at least 6-7 on the reguar 5' 1/4" goals.

6 is the most we have tried because that is all the tetras we have made, we might be able to get one or two more
