Turning Left and right

I'm sure people have noticed the rigidity of the given chassi. We can't seem to find a method to make their chassi turn fluidly. We have a two motor set-up.

I assumed that perhaps turning off one motor lets say left and leaving the right
going will make it turn right, but thats not really working.

Also, I havent found the "2005 default programming manual" only 2004's; are there robot rotate functions in the FRC.hex ?

Were getting frustrated because we don't know how[other than the method above] and when we are turning in code, if it is supplied -in default code- and how to predict it.

I assume caster wheels might help....
