i have one!!! (its not really lame...it was accually pretty good but i figured it would be ok to post it.) i was at the 2006 nationals (in atlanta duh) and team 233-the pink team-was one of our alliance partners. we were all trading buttons and such to show support for our alliance when a girl came up to me and tappen me on the shoulder. she was from pink team and he handed me a button upside-down. she then says "that guy over there (pointing to another member of the pink team) wanted me to give this to you." so i flipped the button over and it said "233 Hottie" it was so sweet i just started to blush. nothing like that had ever happened to me before! it was my favorite button i had ever gotten...........but i left it in my hotel room down there!!!!!!!

I was manning the Hall of Fame display and this guy walked up and talked to me for an hour about chairman's stuff. Then I found out from a friend that he worked on mechanical and had nothing to do with their chairmans subgroup . I kind of figured something was up before that....it was rather funny

I've known guys like that, but generally they're not bright enough to be doing it on purpose ...

With lines like that, the girls your team encounters should arm themselves with the appropriate response – if only they could figure how to get a ten foot pole in their pocket.

Towards the end of the qualifying rounds at the Championship this year, we were in second place in our field, so a lot of teams came over to our pit to talk to us, in hopes of becoming an alliance partner in the elimination rounds. Everyone got forwarded to me, as I was the drive team coach and I was going to be the team representative for alliance selections. I have a lot of good memories from talking to everyone, but there's one moment that stands out in my head. A member of a rookie team was telling me about his team's robot and what they could do to be a great alliance partner. Then all of a sudden he stopped and put his arm around my shoulder, and he says, "and if I may add, you're looking quite nice... I know we'd make good partners." As funny as it was at the time (although I don't think it was intended to be), that definitely crossed their team off our list of potential alliance partners.

I was doing surveys at nationals and I asked this guy if his robot could pick up another robot. He said, "let's put the robots aside, i could pick up you" and then he started doing all these "muscle man" posses. I just said WOW and walked away hehe.

A girl on my team was wearing a keeper-skirt, and I told her "I guess you're a keeper."
(It wasn't a pickup line; it was actually an attempted witty response. I'm not one for pickup lines...)
We also threw a spoiler on one of our mentors, I believe, and said he was spoiled.

Allright, I'll bite.

It was my team's first competition EVER, @ the Peachtree Regional - 2004 - and we were standing by the playing field, me and some guys from my team. These guys came up to us and one of the guys walks up to me all suave and trying to be cool and then says ... "Sooo, you are team Manure, huh?" At that point the guys behind me just bust out laughing and I'm like "Noo, its Minotaur." His face got so red and he disapeared so quickly. The funny thing is that those guys didn't even look like they were in a team, it seems like they were just visiting. And I guess they mistook the name Minotaur which was in very big letters in our shirt for "Minoaur?" **Man, that must have been some badly designed t-shirts** But I do have to give this to them, my hair is long and was covering part of the name ... maybe that was what threw him off.

Anyway, that one single line became the joke of our team for years. Even our mentors joked around with it for a long time ... oh yeah team Manure ... yeeehaaa!!! I do have to say to whoever was that delivered that jaw-dropping line ... rest assured you delievered many laughs for many people. Thanks!
