Re: problem loading code with ifi loader
You may very well have tried the following things, but here's the best way I know how to troubleshoot the problems I've had with IFI Loader this year:
1) Reboot your computer 2) Turn all other programs off if you still can't get it to work (even programs that don't seem to use COM ports can effect it it seems, at one point we had a cd playing and IFI Loader wouldn't work right... which still makes no sense) 3) Make sure you've got the RC in Program-ready mode (holding down the prog button till the program LED turns orange) 4) Try another RS-232 cable, quite often they seem to be able to just die (from being twisted or something and something going loose in it). This has happened many times, and could cause an error. If none of that works, I'd suggest you try calling Innovation First, they may have some more ideas. Are you using last year's controller? I'm assuming you are since you probably shipped this year's stuff with the robot. |

Make sure you're using the right COM port, first of all. Often I'd be on the wrong one. Then make sure that the RC is in program mode by holding the PROG button on it. If that still doesn't work then turn off the RC and hit the RESET button to completely reset it. If it STILL doesn't work, try rebooting the PC. |

Re: problem loading code with ifi loader
Thanks, but I just used another laptop and that got rid of the problem, but now both laptops have another problem, I tried all of the methods but it keeps saying... I forgot, something with there is no controller or something like that. And yes, I am using the robot from last year because we already shipped ours.

Re: problem loading code with ifi loader
Make sure you put the RC into program mode by pressing the "Prog" button down until the program LED turns orange, otherwise it will give you the no controller problem you're experiencing.

Re: problem loading code with ifi loader
If you are trying to use this years loader with last years RC dont forget you need to update the 04 RC firmware to the 05 Master Firmware.
