Re: Proudest Moment

My proudest moment this season was at the regional when not one thing broke on the robot. After spending the entirety of last years time between matches with a robot that could not function it was a big deal for us.

Re: Proudest Moment

Proudest Moment this season has got to be the Chesapeake regional, with that being my last competition and my team coming home in the top 5 and an award in hand. For all of the seniors including myself that might not get a chance to return next year it is nice to know the team is heading in the right direction, and will continue on passing on the gift it has given to me, the since of pride in seeing something you have worked on for weeks come together and do exactly what you meant it to do.

Re: Proudest Moment

My proudest moment this season was our ability to cap the goal in autonomous. This is my third year on the team. I have seen my team getting better and more effective. This year everything ran much smoother. I have great hopes for us this season. I know my team did their job, now i am just praying and ready for action

Re: Proudest Moment

So far....

I thought it was when we made it through GLR with no breakdowns. I congratulated the team at our next meeting...

...but then I was even more proud when they said that it DID break down. And they fixed it. And none of the mentors or coaches ever knew it. Not that we would have helped them much, but they didn't even ASK us for help.

Re: Proudest Moment

Hmm, my proudest moment would have to be from the Waterloo Regional this weekend. First, for those of you who don't know, I am from team 1503, part of the Niagara First Alliance. the NiagaraFIRST alliance consists of teams 1114, 1503, and 1680.

Anyway... this week, we all took home an award, so my proudest moment(s) were when simbotics (1114) took home the judges award for giving birth to 1503 and 1680. When we (spartonics, 1503) got to take home the rookie inspiration award, (lets just say I was so happy I jumped on Karthik), and when Fesstronics (1680) took home rookie all-star. I was so proud of all our teams. by the time I finished clapping, my hands were almost bleeding.

I'm with Oliver on this one... there are, like others have said, no words to describe that feeling when you know you've put so many hours of hard work into something, and seeing your team succeed. Being a 3rd year student on a 3 year team, and seeing us win Chairman's two of these three years is something I'll never forget.

Re: Proudest Moment

I have two that top my list
1) Working Hard to coordinate a FLL Exhibition at the FLR which was awesome
2) FLR Chairmans Award. Knowing what the award stands for makes winning it absolutely amazing!

Re: Proudest Moment

I'd have to say the same as Chris Sturrock. I'm also from team 1503 and those moments also were some of my proudest moments. The other one however for me was when we made it into the semi-finals and continued to work but to not make it to the finals. But the point is how well my co-driver did with me with our first time interaction with other teams robots.

Re: Proudest Moment

Our young team of 10 hung together very well during the grueling build season. they not only got the 'bot together in time to ship it, but did a fantastic job decorating the crate. They performed very well as a team, and managed to win Highest Rookie Seed at UTC.

Performance in the game was not what brought out their best. Adversity showed me how great they are. We had some technical difficulties that hurt us in the quarterfinals, and we had to pull ourselves out for the second match. Instead of looking for someone to blame, more than one team member said that he or she should know more; we didn't have enough redundancy built in.

I hope that they can keep this great attitude and pass it on to the new members as we grow the team. They really made it all worthwhile for me.

Re: Proudest Moment

The proudest moment for our team has to be what has just happened at the end of awards in Cleveland. We were listening and it came time for chairmans award and everyone was anxious and waiting the upcoming disappointment. My proudest moment has to have been when they started reading what the judges had to say about the winner and I recognized what they were saying as the same stuff that our whole team has been saying to the judges all weekend. When they finally announced it we all exploded. It is a great feeling that words can't even begin to describe. Its a great thing to finally get in the senior year of me, and many others, especially those who have worked so hard on it for the past four years.

Re: Proudest Moment

Driving a Finalist robot at GLR It was really exciting being only a rookie also (I had no clue what was going on half the time, lol). I have various times I was proud like capping over a high stacked goal, or flawlessly capping the center goal, etc.

Talking Re: Proudest Moment

My proudest moment was seeing my old team, 237 kick some major robot turf in Rochester and then again in New Jersey.

Another would include watching team 195 do a fantastic job at UTC.

Keep up the good work you guys!
