No web cast, at least not from the usual source (NASA). Silicon Valley is the only webcast scheduled for week four.

Re: Denver anyone

Team 118 will be there going to a non-texas regional for the first time, uh, ever, I think. We're psyched. We're making our drivers hold their breath while practicing.

The tricks to adjusting to the altitude:

1. Get lots of sleep.
2. Drink lots of water.
3. Don't drink lots of other stuff (alcohol or caffiene).
4. Don't worry about it too much (Denver's only at like 5000 feet, isn't it?)

.... the Mile High city is really high compared to Sea Level.. which is what we Floridians are used to...

not to mention its going to be really cold (40-50 degrees F) in comparison to our usual temperature down here (70-80 degrees F)... our uniforms consist of board shorts and T-shirts! plus i heard theres a chance of a snowstorm on Saturday... i checked the weather channel, and it seems that the longer we're staying in CO, the colder its getting... i hate being cold, but i'm so excited! i've never seen snow the last time i saw snow i was 2 (so i obviously dont remember) and i've never seen real mountains! now hopefully i'll get better (somehow i got sick after UCF ) before we fly up. ^^;

Re: Denver anyone

checking the thermostat, it's a comfortable 75 degrees here in houston. i can only imagine the kind of shock i'm going to put my body through going up to colorado and suffering the chilly temps for only 3 days then coming right back to the warm weather. I know i'll be sick for sure.... but it's all worth it, the Robonauts are very excited about being represented at Denver next week.

I think that accuweather.com has a more accurate forcast for this part of the country. The temperature forcast is usually accurate, however, no one seems to be able to forcast when it will snow. Currently the forcast High for Friday will be 36 degrees. The lows will be in the 20's. Take a look at what they say the 'Real Feel' temp is going to be (their take on wind chill). I would not pay attention to the forcast until the day before you leave, it seems to change a lot from day to day. Just be sure and bring a lot of clothes that you can layer like a long sleeve T-shirt that you can wear under you team shirt and a sweat shirt and a coat.

Re: Denver anyone

Webcast ? Would someone be interested in starting a webcast at Denver. We can do a simple webcam PC setup, if someone at the regional has a decent server to host the event. If not archiving video might also be an option. It will only take a laptop/desktop, webcam and a big harddrive.

You are so young. Flying in a Piper Archer is fun. Flying on an airliner is just hours stolen from your life.

53 and sunny in Redmond today. People are wearing shorts and playing outdoors.

Re: Denver anyone

Well practice is over and we got snow today. Expecting more snow tommorrow and tapering off on Saturday. Expecting a low overnight of 22 degrees. With a high tomorrow of 38.
