Read at own risk, i am saying what i found in my box of Yum-Yum donughts. Make shure you read and signed the disclamer---
Well, due to the fact people have pm-ed me so much, i must say what i found in my box-o-dounghuts. I found a few white cockroaches in there. I am sorry, but when you open the box and see thoes little suckers staring back at you, saying these are my donughts, that is just sick... |

You do remember the rats running around in the Dunkin store, and the rat that they fried, right? And I you didn't get a box from a Krispy Kreme store if you got cockroaches. KK boxes them for you right in front of you, ESPECIALLY those fresh from the frier doughnuts...mmmmmmmmm.
So, you may find roaches and bugs in any food that you get that's been packaged and shipped like it sounds like you got, this is a shipping problem. I know that you couldn't get cockroaches from an actual KK store! |

There isn't any KK stores near me. Well, we have 1 that is about 10 miles, but i don't want to go that far. The Yum-Yum i used to go to was only ~2 miles, much closer, but now i probaly will go w/o dounghts, or if i have to, i will go to the Kroger. They sell KK donughts, (i know where Kroger is at, but not the KK store, although i did see a KK store by the CR!!!)

Krispy Kremes are the living embodiment of the lightest breezes of heaven. They are formed from the gathered wisps of the aroma of ambrosia wafting from the topmost heights of Olympus, woven together by the youngest, most agile woodland nymphs in the earliest hours of the pre-dawn when the air is most still and the dexterity of their fingers is the greatest. This allows them to create the delicate laces of pure sunlight that compose the fibers of this wondrous food, nay, textured nirvana, that is then coated with a bath of the distilled essence of pure morning dew. These mystical concoctions must be consumed quickly, lest they sublimate back to the heavens before they can be captured on the tongue. Dunkin’ Donuts are, well, just donuts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- w00t! I stand by my previous observation about KK, but i have a newfound respect for the people who eat them. |

::drool:: Yum - I have the worst craving for Krispy Kreme donuts right now - thanks guys!
We don't have a KK anywhere near us ... I think there's one in Chicago ... Every day before competition at MMR we stopped at Dunkin' Donuts (which, for the record, are definatly not as good as KK donuts!). I think the last time I had KK doughnuts was last summer at a gas station in Richmond, VA .../me longs for Krispy Kremes - Katie |

Katie -
The nearest Krispy Kreme for you is in West Allis, WI (2900 108th Street). About a 100-mile drive. Just think - you are only two hours away from gastronomic nirvana! (and if I remember correctly, it is just down the street from a pretty good Mexican restaurant named "Qdoba" or something like that). -dave ----------------------- "When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before." - Mae West |

Krispy Kreme is the superior donut. All the Dunking Donuts Ive had have been dry and stale (even straight from the store) while the unique glazing process on a KK makes it completely impervious to the outside air. A box of those fundraiser KK donuts can last weeks, even years without going stale...After nuclear war, only cockroaches will be left and they will eat krispy kreme donuts, trust me.

It would be interesting to see how those of you who think one brand of a donut is better than another would do if you were blindfolded and fed different donuts and asked to pick which brand was which.

Now, would these be, sitting-in-the-box-for-a-day doughnuts, or fresh-from-the-store doughnuts?
If it were fresh-from-the-store doughnuts, there is no competition! I'm not sure about sitting for a day doughnuts though, I have never worried tried them, but I'm sure KK would win either! |

For a proper experiment, all the conditions must be the same. So either all donuts must be sitting-in-the-box-for-a-day donuts or fresh from the store donuts. Otherwise one donut has an unfair advantage. Just like you would have to have the same kind of donuts, like all glazed, or all jelly-filled.

The problem is, is that fresh-from-the-store doughnuts at KK are literally straight out of the frier as Dunkin's aren't....

Well, the Krispy Kremes would have to be at least a few minutes old... mainly because it would be really odd to have someone sitting at the counter eating donuts with a blindfold on. And, of course, I know nothing about Florida, and whether they even have a Dunkin Donuts there. Oh well, I guess the Great Donut Experiment will never come to pass.
