Thumbs up 2-week FIRST summer program @ WPI

Hey all you high schoolers-

Just thought I'd help get the word out on this.. Every summer, WPI hosts Frontiers, a two-week summer program for soon-to-be juniors and seniors in various areas of study. Students live on campus for two weeks and get in-depth and hands with an area of study interesting to them....

This year, Robotics has been added.. here's the description of the camp:

"Robotics
As a FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics participant, you will be taken through recreational robot design and operation, from theory and manufacturing to testing and competition. (This session is particularly useful in preparing participants for entry or leadership within the FIRST Robotics teams in their high schools.)

Seminar topics include basic operating principles, driveline design, sensor operation, basic programming and sample mechanisms.

The program begins with the presentation of a challenging robotics problem for you to solve by the program's end. The group will be divided into two 15-person teams. During the remaining days in the program, your team will brainstorm, design, build and test its creation. The chance to show your team's design superiority will come when the two robots meet for the climactic, end-of-session tournament!"

T190 is proud to be putting on this program and anyone interested should visit the following link for more information:

The program runs from July 6-19.

And don't forget Battlecry @ WPI 3- June 15th!
