Re: What do you plan to do after highschool?

After high school, I wish to go to a local community college or EMU to get a degree somewhere in computer science. Most likely I'll become a programmer or CAD operator or both. (now imagine this situation, you know how to program and use a CAD system like AutoCAD or even better, Inventor. Oh the magic that can be made.) Personally, I like to design things more than anything. I was leaning into programming, but then I thought about it and CAD was a better, more fun of an option, and then I thought if I ever want to tweak the system I should know programming.

I'll keep on thinking about it for now.

Recently though I have been thinking politics. How it ever got into the pool of future possibilities I don't know, but it's something that I haven't thought about in about 4 years. I'll just have to wait and see what happens to influence my future.

Re: What do you plan to do after highschool?

I'm going to college next year, majoring in Computer Science. During which time I shall continue to help FIRST in any way I can through the internet. And I shall start my company as well, probably later this year, when I am over 18, it will be some kind of software company, not sure what yet, I like programming everything (O.S., Games, Internet, Utilities, Mathematical, etc...)

Re: What do you plan to do after highschool?

Right now I'm debating between pursuing Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering in college. Haven't decided on a school yet but I have it narrowed down...sort of...not really. So many Colleges and University to pick from and then you have to worry about your grades and ACT scores(just took my first one and was relieved that all the studying I had crammed in the 2 days before had helped make the test seem like no big deal, which helped me to relax and get the questions right). Anyone else get anything from Olin college? I got stuff from them and it seems like a very interesting and unique school, which would be very hard to get into. And they offer FIRST scholarships

Re: What do you plan to do after highschool?

If you had asked me that a year ago, I'd tell you that I had no idea, but now I can tell you everything that I want to do after HS.

Summer '05 - I hope to go sailing with Brigantine Company again on Lake Ontario, so much fun.
Fall '05 -> Spring '09 - 4 grueling years of college where I'll major in CS.
After college - attend graduate school with hopes of getting a Ph.D. in EE.
After that - get a job somewhere, preferably industry and not research.

But nothing is for certain. This is just how I imagined my next ~10 years to be like. But hey, anything could happen, hell I may even decide to become a singer during all of this.

Re: What do you plan to do after highschool?

I had no idea what I wanted to do after high school while I was still there. I did know that I did not want to take Calculus. So I went to a local community college and putzed around, worked, school, FIRST. Then I took some EMS classes and got my EMT-B. Volunteered at Sterling Rescue and I loved it, but wanted to know more. I'm currently in search of a nursing school to attend, get my BSN, then spend some time with the Navy or Air Force as a peds emergency nurse.

I am having a difficult time of it though. While putzing around at NVCC, I didn't really care, and my GPA suffered greatly because of that. Nursing school is getting tougher and tougher to get into, and a GPA is really hard to raise once you blow it. Lessons learned.

Re: What do you plan to do after highschool?

I'm going to head to college (most likely Eastern Michigan University...it's about 10 minutes away from where I live), and major in something along the lines of English literature, and either minor or double major in buisiness. After that I plan to go to law school, and then hopefully go into corporate law.

Talking Re: What do you plan to do after highschool?

Right now I have no clue, well i have a few options open. I want to be a cpl things:
-Design Engineer
-Owner of a multimillion $ company (why make billions when you can make millions )
-Fashion Designer

I really have no clue, and it seems like engineer and fashion designer contradict sooo much. lol. i mean, from one end of the spectrum to the other. But I think I'll be an engineer who secretly wants to be a fashion designer. That works too. I'm really good with computers and math. However, I like colors and fashion (rhinestones!!!!!!!!!) . GRRRRRRrrrrrrrr.... being multitalented. lol. well, atleast it's not i have little talent n i want to do a lot of things. Ok, so here's how my life will go if I decide to become an engineer who secretly wants to be a fashion designer:

Once I finish college, and run a little fashion line called Viji on the side, I'll go off to Danbury, CT where I'll search for a job n get payed lots n lots of $$$. They recognize I have talent and there's promotions galore! Meanwhile, I get phone calls from Milan saying they want to use my clothing and handbags b/c they're short designers. I refuse, saying my job comes 1st. well... my engineering job comes 1st, and I tell that to my boss who says good job. you're setting an example for the rest of team. n i get more promotions until i become CEO n decide that everything must change in order to be aesthetic and upgraded. lol. There will be no engineer who's tie doesnt match his shirt. The meetings rooms would be very nice, and perhaps a little pink... n studded with rhinestones.... and Milan is begging for my line so I give into peer pressure and give it to them where I become the fashion icon in Vogue and ppl recognize me worldwide as one of the top powerful people in the universe!!! Ego galore!!!

If I make it into Olin I would love Olin. However, just to give you a note on the scholarship thing to clarify: Olin has very very small graduating classes, they don't plan to have any more than 650 or so per class. They pay everything for you. Essentially free tuition and everything for all 4 years. Very good deal. I know they pay full tuition, but not totally sure about room board and other stuff like that.

They've sent me stuff too, the program sounds great.
