Question Buying Joysticks

We are a brand new team to FIRST this year and we felt that this year's joysticks were terrible just like everyone else thought. We are looking to see if anyone has any suggestions for pre-built joysticks or if we should build our own. We are currently looking at industrial style joysticks with arcade game buttons if we decide to make our own. The ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Buying Joysticks

Flightstick joysticks are what you want. They are perfect for this application. I would check EBay, that's where we got our 4, and I paid between 1 and 20 dollars per joystick. The best part about these is that they are ambidextrous.

We have a similar one to this, but ours don't have the thing on the top.

Re: Buying Joysticks

Make sure if you purchase a joystick that it is an analog joystick and has the old game port style connector on it. Digital joysticks do not work with the current IFI OI.
