Re: Another Annonymous Testimony
That is incredibly poignant, and yet so true of so many students. FIRST really does have the power to mold and change students entire lives!

Re: Another Annonymous Testimony
This is proof of what a wonderful atmosphere we have here. It comes to show what friendly and giving hearts can do -- it can turn a person around 180 degrees, humble them, bring them up, encourage them, anything the doctor needs. leave it to FIRST. We should all remember that this isn't possible without people like US contributing to the atmosphere -- "pay it forward".
It was great reading a story like this -- it gives me hope and reminds me that we all can make a difference |

Re: Another Annonymous Testimony
what a great story... I always love to hear the great things FIRST has done for all of us... it's simply amazing...
i must say that Saturday was a moment in my life too.. aww man...great times... i love Fluffy i must say that... but the people in FIRST always still continue to amaze me.. mentors, students, parents..they all have a story to tell and they all reach out to one another... i still think if people outside FIRST looked in more...they would truly see a place where we all can pretty much get along... peace does exist truly in a way... Thank you to FIRST and the people in FIRST again...time after time..you give me hope for our future and I'm proud to work and learn beside you all... great story again.... |

Wow, what a great story.
I first heard about FIRST when I saw a 60 minutes piece on Dean Kamen. I was so excited by the piece that I went out and got my hands on all the competition footage I could find . I was just enthralled. I tried to join 662 but they wouldn't let me cause I was still in middle school . But they let me come to the meetings and go with them to competition though, which was simply AMAZING! I mean I wasn't officially on the team, but I was still there soaking it all up and cheering for them. And with that much excitement wetting my appetite, I was like the first new member on the team when they finally let me join the following year . Going to a competition and getting to learn what it was all about gave me a lot of drive and made for an amazing experience in FIRST. And I've still got a few years to go! I think I've died and gone to heaven .Oh well, here's to FIRST! YAY! |
