What teams think they might attend the Boston Regional

Teams 549 (the DevilDawgs) are thinking of making the Boston Regional the first pick this year. What teams think they might do the same thing?

233 would love to come although it will probably be our second pick (money deciding)

1276 will go if we go to a second regional (which isn't very likely).

Re: What teams think they might attend the Boston Regional

Depending on the funding we're going to make Boston the first pick and Manchester the second. I would think that Boston will fill up quick because of all the teams in Massachusetts.

Thumbs up Re: What teams think they might attend the Boston Regional

Has a venue been decided yet? A Boston regional is a great idea, but where? I was under the impression that our first pick this year was going to be Manchester, and if a Boston regional was announced we'd consider it.

We're having our first meeting of the season next week so I'll bring it up.

The regional will be held at Boston University's Agganis Arena. The Regional information is posted on the FIRST website.

Re: What teams think they might attend the Boston Regional

Thanks! They were building that arena while I was in grad school at BU (2002-2003), and it looks like it will be a decent sized venue. I haven't seen the completed building yet.

I'll definitely be mentioning it.

Re: What teams think they might attend the Boston Regional

The regional only has a cpacity of 25 teams (making it one of the two smallest). It will be interesting to see which teams will choose it over Manchester.

Re: What teams think they might attend the Boston Regional

Well, team 246, being the Boston University team, will be going to the Boston regional.

We might go to Manchester too, but it doesn't look too likely.

I go to school on the BU campus just down the street from aganis arena, and can say that it is *very* nice, and brand new, and shiney. If anyone has *any* questions, feel free to ask me, here or via email, about anything - resources, food, etc.

As one may assume, I am *very* excited.

Re: What teams think they might attend the Boston Regional

The Boston Regional has an open capacity of 25 teams because a large number of the slots are reserved for local rookie teams (which are MANY!) Wait-listed teams may be able to attend later on when all the Worcester & Boston rookie teams have registered for the event.

I am the volunteer coordinator, and I need AWESOME volunteers for the Boston Regional (including key positions). If you are interested in volunteering, please email or PM me (because VIMS isn't up yet).

If you think I worked hard to make the Beantown Blitz a well-run and exciting event, wait until you see the Boston Regional!

Thanks!!!

Re: What teams think they might attend the Boston Regional

I know my team, 176, there are alot of people wanting to go to Boston, but Manchester was our first choice, but if it fills up i think we'll make a very good attempt at going to Boston. Also it would be rather closer for us! Hope to see some of you all there.

Manchester isn't that far away. Plus, BAE runs such a great regional that I think a first year Boston regional would be hard pressed to do better.
