Dr.SEUSS explains computers

DR. SEUSS EXPLAINS COMPUTERS

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port, and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort, and the address of the memory makes your floppy disc abort, then the socket packet pocket has an error to report.

If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash, and the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash, and your data is corrupted 'cause the index does not flash, then your situation's hopeless and your system's gonna crash!

If the label on the cable on the table at your house, says the network is connected to the button on your mouse, but your packets want to tunnel on another protocol, that's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall, and your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss, so your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse, then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang, 'cause as sure as I'm a poet, the suckers gonna hang.

When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disc, and the micro code instructions cause unnecessary risk, then you have to flash your memory, and you'll want to RAM your ROM... Quickly turn off your computer and go and tell your Mom.

EDIT:

I recieved this in an e-mail from somone. And I am not trying to pass this off as authentic work. But as comic releif.

Re: Dr.SEUSS explains computers

This is one of my favorite things Mr. Geisel (a.k.a. the most-beloved Dr. Seuss) has ever written! Call me extremely silly, but when I first saw it a couple years ago, I took the trouble to memorize the first two sentences, which was not so easy either!

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities."
~both quotes by Dr. Seuss

Re: Dr.SEUSS explains computers

Just to set the record straight, this was in fact written by Gene Ziegler.

It's a section from a longer poem, and someone found it on the Internet, truncated it, and started passing it off as a Dr. Seuss work. I guess this person didn't realize that Dr. Seuss wrote the majority of his books in anapestic tetrameter (short-short-long), while this poem looks like it is in quartus paeonic tetrameter (short-short-short-long).

Re: Dr.SEUSS explains computers

One day while waiting for robotics to start (meetins start at 4 , we get out of school at 2) we were at the local libary looking up "computer jokes" and we found this. So what we did is we printed it out and ran across campus to the Wireless Networking Technologies Lab teacher ( i just so happen to be in that class) and had him read it, then we went back to the libary and analiyzed it and figured out what everything ment
