Other than rumors and speculation, at this point in the year, FIRST doesn't even know what the new game is going to be...they're still recovering from nationals(and the subsequent water damage to FIRST HQ)...

geo,

I'm sure you won't find that out untill the next kick off, in January.

As far as I know it's always been like this, they don't say anything about the game before they tell everyone.

okay...

waterdamage?

And yeah, we'll prolly get the first info about a week before kickoff, they put the list of materials for the goal on the web earlier than the kcikoff, remember?
That week is a lot of speculation till we finally find out then...
Phil

Water damage

Some non-engineer tried to tap a 1/2 inch city water line above our office with a switch valve and a couple of hose clamps instead of using a proper pipe weld. Happened while we were in Florida. Result: at least 24 hours of water running down through our office; 3 inches of water on the floor; internet connection down, 15 computers destroyed...and the cleanup continues. Anyone wanna calculate the water volume of a 1/2 inch pipe under full pressure for 24 hrs?

changes changes

All I know is that there are people from FRC as seen bove in the forums and year after year we speculate and I am about 99.9% sure that they change the game to go one step past what we say we want (pending what they can get done in time) up until I would say a few weeks before.

pressure

oh yeah would't the volume out of the 1/2 inch pipe be different based on what you mean by "full pressure"???? I know my water pressure is different than my works. They can barely run a sink without a booster pump.

Dean-o's opening speech at the 2003 Kickoff in Manchester..

"Oftentimes, people talk about water as if it's a good thing. But in all cases of good things, they can go horribly, horribly wrong. That's why I suggest you perform a task vital to society over the next six weeks, and build the best wet-vacs ever made!"

Teams are given a kit parts to build a shop vaccuum that holds water. Points are scored for volume of water sucked up off the playing field. Multipliers come in the form of little floating rubber duckies that can double, triple, and even quadruple an alliance's score!

(Water gracious-professionally supplied by the National Beverage Corporation and the people in the office above FIRST's in NH.)

I find that water dammage hillarious. After Dean's speach about water being the stuff of life, his office gets ruined by it. That's some sad irony isn't it?
