Traction Problems...
It's an easy fix, but I thought it was funny enough to post up here.
http://www.team195.com/video/kitbot.wmv (Note: this only happens when slamming the right side motor only into reverse.) |

Re: Traction Problems...
Add more weight. (Not the best idea)
Make sure the metal frame is not warped. Use heavier wheels or wheels with more traction. Shift the weight around so that the weight is evenly distributed. |

Re: Traction Problems...
Most of the weight is above or near the front wheels compared to the back. So when you drive in reverse you don't get as much traction.
Also, slick tile floor sucks for traction... |

Re: Traction Problems...
That was a pretty good laugh, but I have a better one. Never use spare batteries as weights on a prototype, especially when it's holonomic and decides to spin out of control and spill battery acid in a ring on the floor. Why didn't anyone videotape that?!!

Re: Traction Problems...
To the Cyber Knight's surprise, a some printf statements revealed some very intimate thoughts coming from the robot controller on their kitbot:
