Re: pic: Team 1093 wheels
That is a good solutions instead of buying wheels like IFI. The thing is you need to make sure you cover your screw heads with something so they don't touch the floor, epoxy works well. Nice idea

Re: pic: Team 1093 wheels
Those almost look identical to ours, except we used 1 wheel and we used pop rivits to hold the thread on

Re: pic: Team 1093 wheels
Did you glue the screws into the wheels? If so that is a bad idea because its going to be a pain to take them out to replace the tread (yeah the tread wears and you should change it before each regional you go to). Unless you have extra wheels you have done this to, you may wanna figure out how to take the glued in screws out.
Or if you glued the treads on it will also be a pain to take them off to change them. either way just screws or better yet if you can use them are pop rivets. Good luck. Sorry if i read it wrong. |

Re: pic: Team 1093 wheels
It's a good design, 33 has used wheels like that a few times, and 1504 did last year and will again this year.

Re: pic: Team 1093 wheels
That is clever. I like it a lot. Definitely something to keep in the playbook of possibilties. How much does each wheel set weigh?

Re: pic: Team 1093 wheels
Each wheel set ways about as much as 2 wheels and hubs combined (of course), i dont know how much that is but we certainly aren't trying to cut weight. The best thing about these are the cost, only about 3$ per wheel for the tread/glue/screws. IFI wheels are what, 80$ or more? And they can be easily pealed off the glue, it just ensures that they dont shift around side to side on the wheels. Only slight modification is needed on the individual wheel hubs to allow them to fit, and you need to get longer hub screws.
