Re: 2006 IRI - Mark Your Calendars!
The greatest match/alliance ever assembled on Friday. The blue alliance of Thunder chickens, WildStang, and team 70 The More Martians, against the red alliance Cyber Cards, Raider Robotix and 1000 I believe was the third team. That super blue alliance was the scariest thing in the world. They posted the second lowest score in the whole competition. You know 18 to 2 is just a dominating performance. WildStang made two shots while being superbly defended by 1529, 70 had a ball land on the outside of their shooter jamming it stuck but manged to push a ball in the corner, and those Thunder chickens fired absolutely no balls the entire match. It was worse when WildStang received a penalty. But man that was unimaginable.

Re: 2006 IRI - Mark Your Calendars!
Just wanted to say great job to 71, Beatty, 1625, Winovation, and 910, Foley Freeze. You were an amazing alliance and together, took down what I thought to be the greatest alliance ever matched in 2006 with 25, 1114, and 33, not to mention a supurb effort against the reigning IRI and National Champions in 233 and 217.
It was an intense regional. I think I cheered harder in Beatty's semifinal and finals matches today than I ever have in even our own matches. Oh, and it was great getting to go in for a match and get a reservation for the whooping we knew we would recieve by 25, 1114, and 33. Great event, great times. Good job. Thanks to all of the teams who helped to organize the event. |

Re: 2006 IRI - Mark Your Calendars!
Our team had a great time at the IRI...we went in knowing that we'd have a hard time playing against 3 point shooters, but we did pretty well with our bot. We had played a few of the teams in the St. Louis Regionals and we noticed the improvement that some of the bots had since the last time we saw them.
The younger kids from our team really enjoyed the VEX layout - thanks to the team who thought to bring that layout with them. I'm so glad we all stayed until the very end - the semi final matches were so intense. I've never seen so many balls flying at the same time - it was chaos! All the teams did a great job! The whole event was awesome. Thanks to all the teams/parents/volunteers who put it together. DeAnna Team 1094 River City Robots |
