v1.1 STAMP Release (Install fix and calculation bugs)

STAMP has made a follow up release to 1.0. You guessed it, 1.1.

1.1 does not have any new features BUT has some major security bug fixes so that you no longer have the hack the install file! Next we also had some calculation errors on the ranking page fixed in 1.1.

Head over to the STAMP download page to check it out.

All teams currently planning on using STAMP really should use 1.1 NOT 1.0.

FYI: If you have no data in the database the rankings.php file will act odd. After you enter the first match it works.

There are a couple bugs in this release that only became apparent after running it at a real competition. One of those is that the ranking page can not calculate that many values and some of them will have to be pre-calculated. The second is that on the "Robot Summary" page the "Average Points Scored" is actually "Average Match Score".

Both of these will be fixed for v2 for the second week!

okay this STAMP program looks really cool, but i have no clue what I'm doing. i have XAMPP downloaded, as well as the actual STAMP zip file, but it all may as well be in French. And I don't have a French dictionary. I think you get the picture. help or redirection is much appreciated.

Well, here is a general rundown from another post:

"STAMP works as such:

You set up a "server computer". This computer must have some sort of web server, PHP, and mySQL installed. We recomend XAMPP for people not too sure what they are doing. After setting up XAMPP you drop the extracted files from the stamp dir into your htdocs dir of XAMPP. You then start up XAMPP, run the database setup with the config of sqluser=root and sqlpass="" (''" meaning nothing) and you are good to go!

STAMP does require a pretty good scouting team, it functions best with 6 people. I find that many teams hawe this many people meandering the croweds. Just pick up your meanderers and get them to work!"

If you would like some one-on-one help I would be happy to, just hit me up on AIM, sn="Erik Thulin".

Each user has their own account. You would need to organize so that different members are covering different robots. You would be able to see who enters what data as well as only the admin can overwrite data.

So from my understanding, it would be ideal to have 7 wireless laptops with people in the stands? One to host the server and moderate, and one for each person watching a bot?

We ran it pretty well with 6 laptops, one was server but still worked for data entry. You could have that mod though we did not need it.

I think so, but I really do think that you need atleast 6 people watching the match, one on each bot. If you only have one computer I suggest you have 6people who are watching the match then right afterwards they give all their data to the entry person. If you have 2 laptops I would suggest 8 people, An entry person for each alliance and once again 6 observers. This would be the far less stressful.

In your webrowsers address bar type in:
http://(Yourserveriphere)/database_setup.php (i think, verify that this is the file)

Essentially your simply loading up the database_setup.php in a webrowser.

Also, if there is any intrest, i have a demo STAMP v1.1 on my webserver here:
http://stamp.rombus.us

If you would like to create a test account and get a feel for how it works:
Use team number 3000 and team password 89967

Screw around with it, right now there is no data except for my teams robot, so some stuff wont look right. Ill try to put some real data in from buckeye after the competition. Also after this weekend ill upgrade to 1.2!

Re: v1.1 STAMP Release (Install fix and calculation bugs)

Rombus, you're at the Buckeye? So is Team 93. When your in the stands look for the Red Apple and a bunch of red shirted scouters. Jeremy Johnson shoudl be in that group, he is one of the developers on the project. I would be curious to see how our databases compare to see how accurate our scouters are.

Good luck!
