Go to Post Jon is very right, going forward I have a hard time envisioning any future Championship Chairman's award winners without a significant social media presence. It's just too big of an avenue to be ignored. - Karthik [more]

That definitely was the best regional we have experienced yet - not only the fact we were really competitive for a change, but also I enjoyed meeting the variety of teams from all over. It didn't all go smoothly of course, Team 753 slammed us pretty good against the ramp in a qualifying match which shattered one of our omni-wheels. Good thing we had them in our alliance in the tournament! Thanks to Saratoga High, 649, for not just one spare omni, but two of them!! You guys rock!! And your Holonomic drive was fun to watch!! Note to teams.. AM plastic omni wheels + metal ramp = only good for one competition!!

My heart goes out to team David Tyco and his rookie team 1974. I do wish they come back again under better circumstances and wish David a speedy recovery. Team 34, 1726, and 100 really helped them out so they could get their robot running around on the field. They did eventually win one match and were able to score 9 points in a match. Thank you again to all those who attended the regional and we sure hope to have you back in the future. For those who missed some of the final matches, I'm starting to post some of them on our website along with Grant's (Mythbusters - Team 841) pep talk.

Re: 2006 Davis Sacramento Regional

Does anyone know where to find videos of this regional? My team and I wanted to watch them to see some of the great robots we may have missed.

Is there a wya to order a video of the comp from the people who shoot the video of the competition. I dont know what company it is, if it is FIRST or not, would produce a video if they do or not i would like to know where to get a copy for my parents. any info would be awesome. Re: 2006 Davis Sacramento Regional

look at Doug G's post above, there's a link to the 701 website which has videos of several matches.

My web page has a photo collection of all the robots...no video yet though.

Re: 2006 Davis Sacramento Regional

there is some webcast video from the match archived on the NASA site here

http://robotics.nasa.gov/events/webcasts/sacr_2006.php

I'm working on getting a few video clips I shot up on my web page.

These videos take a broadband conection to download...if you don't have a fast connection to the internet, maybe someone on your team who does can download them and put them on a CD or DVD for you to enjoy?

Re: 2006 Davis Sacramento Regional

here's another video of the final match, it is extra lousy quality and contains some irrational exuberance.
