Go to Post See, building a really great robot is just a pseudo challenge for the concept of the whole FIRST program. It is just a phony way to bring people together to reach one common goal. - sanddrag [more]

Hey, now here's an idea.
What if we rebuilt our robot to be constructed of poof balls?
Then we could just pull up to a side goal and sort of dissolve, leaving a pile of electronics and motors.
One of the up-sides is you couldn't be called for extending any part of the robot too far into the goal, because it'd be a legal poof ball.

Re: The best Final match yet? (SBPLI)

We had a great time at SPBLI.
Kevin I believe that 1606 was the number 2 seed, not 271.
The extra time also helped us make some necessary repairs.

271 and 329 were arguably the two strongest robots at the event.
271's drivetrain (maneuverability and power blew my mind. They could be anywhere on the field at a moments notice. Not to mention their awesome shooting ability. It was nice to finally play with them.

329 is the best low baller we have seen at any of the events we have been to this year.

I was personally impressed by many of the machines that played the event.

870 A great partner once they solved their tipping problem. (Our finals partners 2 years in a row)

417 powerhouse defense great low shooter. (We were a bit afraid of 417's power)

353 Let them on the ramp and it is all over for you.

527 A great shooter. (Our finals partners last year)

1468 Amazed us when the loaded the top goal while we sat helplessly on the ramp thinking that the match was over.

1803 Woody (Port Washington I think) Simple consistent low ball strategy. Loved the trap door.

514 Nice shooter. Slick design.

102 effective low baller

533 good shooter

???? Can't remember the number but they had a Basket ball net inside. How cool. (maybe someone can help me with a number.)

Those come to mind right now. Sorry for those I missed.

Congratulations to Roosevelt for the MVP award.

514 for chairman's of course

Most of all thanks Fred B for bringing all this to LI in the first place.
You have changed many lives for the better. (Myself included)

Re: The best Final match yet? (SBPLI)

I have a message from our coach, Catherine Temps:

Quote:
Team 1468 would like to thank team 329 for picking us as an alliance partner. We were hoping that your alliance would pick us. When we had the first match together on Thursday our team was impressed with how your coach had it together when it came to having a strategy before our first match. Coach of team 329, you were a strong leader for our alliance. This was one for the records.

Team 353 you were also a strong force on our alliance.

Our alliance should stand tall we did a great job. Thanks for the memories that will live in our hearts forever.
