498's Mini 2006 Robot

This is a robot my brother and I built, called Cobra Gooding Jr., it took about 2 weeks to build. It uses 7 VEX motors total (1 per side for drive, 1 for a pick up conveyor belt, 1 for a conveyor belt to our shooter, and 3 for our shooter). The shooter is driven by a 1:66.66667 gear ratio, so I'm estimating it's running around 3000-3500 rpm (I don't know the specs on the VEX motors). It shoots a stress ball about 10 feet, I'll put up video later once we shoot one. The only pieces on the robot not a VEX product are some blue vinyl, a piece of aluminum, and a piece of brass.

Currently there are no sensors, I don't know if we'll get to attaching any.

For pictures go to:

Go to the Cobra Gooding Jr. page in the Images section. If you can't see the navigation bar at the top make sure pop-ups are disabled.

Would racquet balls work as well in our robot, since we're using about a 2.5" ball currently and racquet balls are slightly smaller?

They'll be coming, along with video. We just finally finished with it (spent a while fixing programming errors and we changed the gearing on the shooter wheel twice), so I grabbed the closest digital camera (which isn't very good) and used it.
