FIRST hiring 12 VISTA volunteers-UPDATED

FIRST is hiring 12 Americorps/VISTA volunteers in the following states: CT, DE, DC, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT

Some of the things to pay attention to with this position:
1. You cannot have another job where you pay taxes.
2. You may not be a full or part time student.
3. There is a "living allowance" that amounts to about $10,500-tax free (will vary by state). The educational stipend available at the end of the year is about $4,725 OR end-of-year cash award is about $1200. This is the extent of the reimbursement (plus an expense account that will cover mileage, some supplies, etc)
4. This is full-time.
5. The VISTA member will develop a written work plan, and be accountable for accomplishing these tasks. There will be lots of documentation required.
6. The VISTA member will be expected to work with all FIRST programs, including FRC, FLL and FVC.
7. The VISTA members will serve with FIRST in one-year increments, up to 3 years.

FIRST particularly targets disadvantaged, female, and minority students. VISTA members work in collaboration with Regional Directors and Regional Committee Chairs to:
