.mov or .swf to .DV utility?

Okay, the other day I was working on a movie for school and decided to make some intros with Flash. I did and exported them as .movs. Then I copied them over onto my Mac Laptop and tried to import them with iMovie. When I did, it didn't recognize the video, and after a few searches I found that iMovie only imports stuff if it is a .dv stream (whatever that means). Apparently it is an easy process with Quicktime Pro, but I don't have access to that. So does anyone know of a free .mov to .dv converter?

Also I found a video editor for Linux called Cinelerra which looks like it could do it. But the installation process looks rather involved, and I'm not very good at that kind of thing. Does anyone else have experience with it? I'd feel better trying to install it if I knew that it worked well.
