Re: Ew, Spiders!
Do it the good ol' American way and throw money at the problem. In other words, get out of there and call a professional to take care of it.
If you don't want to do that, perhaps WD-40? It is good for all sorts of things... |

Re: Ew, Spiders!
Grab a wok, a little butter, some garlic, and fry 'em up! They are quite tasty, and have lots of protein. -dave |

Re: Ew, Spiders!
Unless you have food or something else up in the attic area to draw them the only thing I can think of is they're coming inside due to all the rain we've had lately. Even the bugs get tired of being wet. If you find where they're coming in or at least a path that they're using then the cleaner should help bring them under control. If you still see them after a few days then there's a hidden breeding ground somewhere.

Re: Ew, Spiders!
^those are daddy longlegs. They just provide the creep effect but won't hurt you - but you said 'little' spiders.
I think with an infestation, you should probably call someone - - be careful how many things you decide to spray in that closed in area, you could end up poisoning your self. Jane Last edited by JaneYoung : 03-07-2006 at 08:30. |

EDIT/ Sorry Jane, I don't know what kind it is. We have wolf spiders here. They range in ever size immaginable. Here in Coal Valley we also have Brown Recluse spiders. Those are extremely dangerous. A couple of years ago a lady was bitten on the leg and within minutes or hours the skin around her leg was rotting away. She had to have it amputated. The was one in my sleeping bag when I went camping once, I was extremely lucky that it didn't bite me and, of course, I crushed it with my foot. As for getting rid of bugs in a house, my favorite method of exterminating 'em just grabbing the nearest object and squashing them. Books, magazines, newspapers, shoes, or free AOL CDs all work good for this. (I had to find something to do with all those free AOL disks...) ![]() |

Re: Ew, Spiders!
I love spiders. But you know what I hate?
Spider webs. They scare the living daylights out of me - imagine being suffocated in one! I'm not sure what the phobia is for that, but when I'm around spider webs, I get totally freaked out and hate it. Another thing that this thread makes me think of is those egyptian beetles that get under your skin and go for the brain, like in Indiana Jones or whatever...*SHUDDER* |
