Help on creating a new team

I was and for the moment still am a loyal member of team #166 Chop Shop!! However, when your parents move, unfortunately, you need to move with them. Worse still, where I am moving there is no first team. I am left with the obvious decision of starting my own team. I'm not sure... there may be an fll team. While I will use vex as a last resort I am currently more interested in starting a FRC team as I was exposed to how great such an environment can be, plus i like the bigger bots, and teams. Hopefully there will be an interest where I am moving. If anyone has any advice, I am starting without any funding or a team for that matter

Re: Help on creating a new team

Hm...one idea to gain some interest/support is to maybe find a team in your area and have them do a bit of a presentation. Perhaps they can even work with you and the team you start throughout the season. If people see the outcome of FIRST and what they can do if they get involved, that usually helps to grab some attention.

Of course, remember to run everything by a school administrator/principal/vice principal or whatever to get it approved. You don't want to start off with a bad relationship with the school!

I wish you the best of luck in starting a team. It's always great to see new additions to FIRST!

Where are you moving to, maybe someone else on Chiefdelphi is in that area also looking to do the same thing you are.
