I. ***Very Important*** What competing teams need to bring with them.
1. Teams should bring a 25 foot grounded electrical extension cord, and a grounded multiple outlet box, for their use in the pits. No extension cord & no outlet box = no power for your pit the entire day. 2. Every team need to turn in a signed release form for each student, parent, mentor, teacher Saturday morning. It is the team mentor's responsibility to collect the signed release forms and turn them in, as one collection, during registration. Every volunteer for Saturday need to turn one in when they are checking in as well. 3. Safety glasses for every individual working in the team's pit though out the day, plus extras for visitors who wish to examine robots up close. Of course, that's not mentioning the carts to move robots between the playing field and pit area, battery chargers, the tools, the spare materials, the robots, the teams, the spirit, the buttons, the noise, and the red/orange/green/blue/purple hair recommended for every FIRST competition, but every participating should know about that by heart already. |

III. Direction, parking, loading/unloading for teams and spectators.
III. Direction, parking, loading/unloading for teams and spectators.
Address: 1290 Blossom Hill Road San Jose, CA 95118 Direction: If you are coming from the North, you would come down 85 to Almaden Expy. Turn Left after the exit and right onto Almaden heading toward Blossom Hill Rd. Turn right on Blossom Hill Rd and continue to the third light and make a left into the school go to the parking lot. You can also get there by taking 87 South to 85 North and exit on Almaden Expy, turn left to Blossom Hill and follow the directions above. The playing field is located in the Main Gym, while the Pit Area is located in the Mini Gym (See campus map). Event Packing at Pioneer High School: As you enter the Entrance parking lot from Blossom Hill Rd, You need to keep driving along the service road until you reach the parking lot. There is another event going on at Pioneer High School later that day, so the earlier you arrive, the more likely you are to find a space in Staff Parking. Next to Staff Parking is the student parking lot with more space (see satellite photo). Loading/Unloading Info: If you are unloading the robot, tools and various boxes for your team, instead of entering the Entrance Parking lot, keep driving on Blossom Hill Road until you reach the other service road along the other side of the school (see campus map). Enter through that service road and keep driving until you reach the Tennis courts. You should see the Mini Gym next to the Tennis court. You can unload there. After the event is over, this is where you can load everything back into your truck/car/pickup/van. You can download the pdf with campus map and satellite picture at: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/download/1909 |
