Question on v-belts
Ok, so I'm designing a cvt. I've tried searching everywhere and I can't find the full specs of a vbelt. McMaster only gave me the width at the top and the height. Anyone know how to figure out the width of the bottom, or the angle of the sides of the vbelt?

Re: Question on v-belts
Thanks for the help everyone. As of right now, I'm designing the cvt. I've looked through those websites and could find what I was asking for. Ill try to be a little more clear. I need to know the bottom the width and the side angles of the V-Belts. I can find the top width and height. Is there an easy way to figure the bottom width and side angles out, like a general formula?

Re: Question on v-belts
Ahh the good 'ole Variable Diameter Pulley CVT. We're also working on one, but probably not for this coming season. For V belts, they are usually around 24-29 degrees for snowmobiles, and a lil' trig can help you calculate the base. You should also use pulleys that are around 24-29 degrees for being upshifting and squeezing of the pulleys. The actual degrees of the wall of the pulleys and the type of pulleys you are going to use need to work with the weights. Pretty much everything needs to work together. Sorry if that was confusing, I only had 2 hours of sleep.

Re: Question on v-belts
according to Mark's handbook....the pulley angle varies from 30 to 38 degrees, depending on belt width and pulley diameter.
