St. Louis FVC Championship
Congratulations to all the participants in today's St. Louis FVC Championship Tournament. The competition was much tougher than I had expected to see, with many very close matches and some high scoring. There were several robots that could hang consistently and a few that could rack up impressive high-goal scores.
I'm sure that there will be complete results and some pictures posted on the St. Louis FIRST site sometime soon (EDIT: results are up now): Inspire award: 1288 from Francis Howell District Schools, St. Charles, MO (#11 seed and #6 alliance captain) The winning alliance 2145 from Gateway HS, St. Louis, MO (the #1 seed and Innovate award) 2124 from Wayne Township, IN (#5 seed and best high-goal scorer) 3216 from Rockwood School District, Wildwood, MO (#12 seed) The runners-up 3037 from St. Josheph's Parish, Crescent Springs, KY (#2 seed and Amaze award) 3010 from Hazelwood Central HS, Hazelwood, MO (#3 seed) 3344 from the St. Louis Science Center Connect award 1777 from Overland Park, KS Think award 3184 from Parkway HS, Manchester, MO EDIT: and special thanks to Dan Green of FRC 111 for an outstanding job as emcee! ![]() Last edited by Richard Wallace : 11-12-2006 at 18:19. |

This is my first year on the team, and this was my first competition. I must say, it was much more fun than I expected. I met a lot of cool people, and saw some amazing robots.
We were all pretty surprised that we won the connect award, but excited, of course. ![]() |

Re: St. Louis FVC Championship
Congratulations to everyone who attended and organized the St. Louis FVC Championship. We were so impressed by everyone and all the teams. St. Louis clearly has an amazing Regional Planning Committee which is very dedicated to putting on a quality event and providing a great experience for the teams - just an incredible group of volunteers and FIRST supporters.
Thank you so much to all the mentors who took a few minutes to give us some feedback and suggestions about Vex and the program - we got lots of great input which will help us continue to improve the system and the program moving forward. Congratulations again to all the students and mentors from every team - you all made the 2006 St. Louis FVC Championship a wonderful event. Happy Holidays, Jason |

Anyone have pictures/videos from this event or know where I can find them?
