I was also planning on sleeping well tonight...im dead tired...but that seems to be impossible now, as I am having troubles sitting here and not yelling around the classroom for ideas

Re: Serious the Real hint

One thing I remember (that I don't know the relevance of) is that the purple balls from 2004 had a big 5 written on them, much like is written on this diamond plate circle.

A pyramid has five sides? A star can be made with five diamonds.

Whoa what if they went all UFC-like and made the field a pentagon... that would be cool!

Except the UFC ring is an octagon. Professional wrestling doesn't help here, either--TNA uses a six-sided ring, while WWE (and most other promotions) use a four-sided ring.

Perhaps this is the dramatic return of the Puck? It's one of the more talked-about field elements in FIRST history, and very few people in FIRST today were around back then.

This would be cool, but only if FIRST allowed elbows

Anyway... 5 robots on the field in a free for all. The scoring pieces are the diamond plate circles, and the playing field remains the same dimensions as in previous years.

Various uses of the number "5":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5_%28disambiguation%29

I want a game hint in pentameter this year!!!

My personal favorite: 2 + 2 = 5, which is a 1984 reference.

2 + 2 = 5, succinct and vivid representation of an illogical statement

^-- That's a good one.

If you keep it as a screen shot then the file name of 2007clue1 would make sense. In a editing program like AVID XPRESS PRO (which I use at school and is similar to Final Cut Pro which I think is the program the almighty Dave Lavery uses) you create new timelines each time you sign in (to keep track of edits/show progress etc.). These timelines use the original timeline name and add another number unless a new name is specified. In example if the name was "robots" the next time you edit it will be saved as "robots1".
This does the same thing if you take a screenshot from the timeline. So... I wouldn't get your hopes up for more still clues, but a short animation, but then again I haven't slept in around 5 days so I am a little spacey.

This leads me to believe that the name of the game will be called "Hot Corners" and will contain goals on the four corners of the field. Just a thought.

Re: 2007 Official FRC Game Hint / Email Blast

to everyone that thinks water...

yes cool, but think about that. realy.

they would need to make a giant tank, that would be in an arena, suitable for probly 6 FRC robots. we arent talking Vex here, but big robots. also, electricity + water = BUZZZZZ

im sure just insurance liability would prevent the whole idea

and any schools go a place for a practice field?

"yeah we'll just put our pool in the gym. i think its water tight"..

sorry. but in my opinion FIRST would never be able to host such an event.

but non the less im hoping the guys give us some kinda fast paced game
