"The team social will take place on Friday, March 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Science Center and will include the new Star Wars exhibit. Dinner will be included. Dinner details to follow shortly."

Since she announced it, I can now make it public. We've been working on this for a while. The Science Center is a short walk from the Sports Arena.

This is excellent news! It's good to hear that the social is back (last time there was one in LA it was before my time). I'm hoping to be able to make it, so hopefully I'll see everybody there.

All: does anyone know what the social will cost? Also, does anyone know how to find the LA Regional webcast site? It's not on the LA Regional Website and google hasn't been helpful. I have some friends in Europe who don't get NASA TV but want to watch via the Web.

The Social is free to teams. There is no official webcast planned for LA. A team that does a fair amount of video production was going to try and get something going on that line, but they had to work out some things with the venue to do so. ( internet connections etc.) I do not know the status of those efforts.

Can I just say that our team had a really great time at the social! Thanks so much to everyone who helped organize this year's social, you gave our team memories that will last a lifetime!

Oh! I loved the team social. We sat with the Canadian team (188), and chatted. Then the science center was awesome!! I got in a lightsaber fight with Obi-wan and lost... horribly.

Seriously, comments on the Regional and especially the Social are much appreciated. It has been several years since we had a Social and are a little out of practice. I can assure you that coments in this thread will find their way to at least one Regional Committee member.
